Another Day in Amish Country

I awoke with a start in the wee hours of the morning to the sound of hoof beats pounding on our gravel driveway. Our trusted steed that provides the horse power for our horse and buggy transportation had escaped his pen and was wandering around the yard. With a skip and a hop I had my chore boots on and darted out the basement door to retrieve the escape artist equine. Only to be met by a black creature with the telltale white stripe on its back and tail. As I came to a screeching halt the varmint did not seem to mind that I had interrupted its night hunt. Behind the scenes at Abner Henry

The birds are singing in the trees, chickens are scratching the dirt, and the horses are frolicking in the field. Outside our children are playing in the yard and our three-year-old exclaimed, “Daddy, I found two dandelions.” These are all signs of spring in Ohio. Another winter, albeit mild, is finally over and the green grass and warm sun are a welcome sight.
Spring also ushers in another High Point Market. Our craftsmen are creating new and exciting Abner Henry show pieces. Norman has sanded the dresser, Leroy has developed new colors, Wes has forged the iron...
