Furniture Designer - Jim Snip

Jim has been an important part of the Abner Henry Fine Furniture team, hired in 2009; his talents as a Furniture Designer have changed the direction of the Company and allowed for a new level of refinement and cutting edge design.  Over the last three years Jim has designed and assisted in all of the current Jim Snip provides a new level of refinement and cutting edge furniture design. t product lines being represented.

Jim is very forthright and honest, communicating ideas and thoughts, allowing clear expectations and fulfillment of projects requested.  An example of his talents can be seen in the New Brunswick Collection.  Jim worked directly with Scott Knox, owner of Priba to fulfill an important category missing from Priba’s collections.  Jim’s design talents allow the Company to offer the additional benefit of working directly with him, taking advantage of the unlimited customizing.  

As both a Carver and Designer James Snip has worked with such outstanding organizations as the Winterthur Museum, National Trust for Historic for the Preservation and the Irish Georgian Society. While working with these groups Jim was involved in reproducing some of the most beautiful representations of historical furniture.

In addition, Jim’s Freelance Design experience includes working with Polo Ralph Lauren, E J Victor, and Baker Furniture.

Jim Snip's experience includes working with Polo, Ralph Louren, E J Victor and Baker Furniture. From April 2004 to January 2009 Jim worked closely with Chris Bergelin.  Jim assisted and designed numerous popular collections.

From October 1980 to July 2002 Jim was employed with Kindel Furniture Co., Grand Rapids, MI.  During his 22 years with Kindel, Jim worked as a Spindle Carver, Hand Carver,
Master Carver, Assistant Plant Manger, Head of Design, High Point Showroom Manager, and Special Projects Manager.

Jim’s past experience in the Furniture Industry places his talents in the highest level of competence and abilities as a Designer.
